Primary 7

P7B

Last week P7 went to the Holocaust Memorial Day in the Caird Hall to listen to a speech from Holocaust survivors. There were performances from dancers, singers and musical instruments too.

We were also lucky enough to be visited by George Brady, Fumiko Ishioka, Lara Brady and Larry Weinstein for a Glow Meet about 'Inside Hana's Suitcase'. The whole afternoon was a great success and we really enjoyed having our visitors and learning about the Holocaust from them.

Ahoy!

This year the school show theme is pirates! So P7b have been talking in pirate code and have made treasure chests and treasure maps. It was great fun dipping the maps in coffee to get a great effect.

P7A

P7A have been quite busy this last week. Mrs  Crawford is a student teacher and she has been helping P7A.  The children have been on a trip to the DCA, to see a film called 'Inside Hana‘s Suitcase'. The children thought it was very good.

P7 have also been practicing for the school show a lot! Everyone has been assigned a role, and they are all now trying to learn their lines. The show is called 'Pirates of the Curry Bean' and you will soon be able to get tickets to the show which will be in the Gardyne theatre!

P7B

Last Friday P7B went to the DCA to see 'Inside Hana's Suitcase'. This film is based on a true story about the Holocaust in World War II. Most P7 pupils found this story very upsetting but very interesting at the same time. George Brady, Hana's brother, is coming in next week to visit the P7 pupils, which we are all very excited about.

Show Rehearsals

Primary 7 have been very busy along with Mrs McDade, Mrs Kemlo and Miss Dowie when doing school show rehearsals. All of the P7 pupils are extremely excited about the show and can't wait to perform in the Gardyne Theatre in March.

School Trip

The P7s have been learning about the Holocaust this week, and are going on a school trip to DCA to see the movie 'Hana's Suitcase'.

'Hana's Suitcase' is based on a real story which the P7 classes have been looking at this week.

They are all excited about seeing the movie.

Switching Teachers

Mrs Snee is now filling in as Eastern's Head Teacher  because of Miss Barclay's retirement and Mrs McDade is now doing Mrs Snee's job as Depute Head Teacher!

Mrs Kemlo is taking over Mrs McDade's place as P7B's teacher. Everyone is missing Mrs McDade but are enjoying our time with Mrs Kemlo.

Show Auditions ...

This week the P7s have been taking part in this year's school show auditions.  The standard was very high and varied.  There was singing, poetry, magic shows and comedy acts. Some very very nervous and others a bit more confident.  Over the two afternoons, everyone really enjoyed it and we will find out very soon what our show will be for this year.

Our Topic on WWII

This week Kieron's gran, Mrs Smith came to talk to the P7s about her experience of World War 2.  She was only 14 years old when war broke in 1939.  She had lots of interesting stories to us and answered lots of our questions.  We learned lots about rationing, the blackout, her husband's story and how relieved she was when war was over.
