P1A have been celebrating Chinese New Year, they have been making Chinese hats, lanterns and dragon masks.

They have also been learning the poem "The Snowman, by J.K Annand to celebrate Robert Burns day.

Also, P1 have been doing lots of art they have been making their own versions of Kandinsky art and also their own version of Jackson Pollock art.

P1B

P1B have been learning about Chinese New Year and making lanterns, dragons, calenders and hats.
They have also been learning about the artist Podinski, and have been creating their own pieces of art in his style. They look brilliant!

P1A

Topic - This week P1A have been  reading 'The Three Little Pigs'. They have been learning about the materials which the pigs used to build their houses for their topic materials.They have also been finding out how to make paper stronger.

Gym - In Gym with Mrs Dorward, P1 have been doing different rolls such as pencil rolls and forward rolls.

Arts and crafts - In Art they have been making calendars for 2012 with Mrs Morrison and painting lots of colourful pictures.

Maths - This week, P1 were learning how to add in Maths lessons.

P1B

This week, P1B have been enjoying more art work on the computer by Jack Pollock.

They have also been learning about different materials,watching videos and making story boards to do with 'The Three Little Pigs'.

What the Ladybird Heard!

This week the P1s have been enjoying reading "What the Ladybird Heard".

They have also been practising hard for their Christmas Nativity.   Oh and on the note of Christmas

Room on the Broom

This week p1s new topic is "Room on the Broom" a book by Julia Donaldson.  They have made gloop in the breakout area.  They have made the witches house, play dough, witches hats numbered 1-20 all muddled up.  They also have to sort wands big to small. They have lots of letters which they have to make words with and they have also made junk models.  The P1s have also been learning songs for the Christmas nativity .

This week Primary 1s book focus is"Dear Zoo".  For Halloween they listened to scary stories  and made pumpkin pictures with paper and glitter. They also had a visit from some nurses from A and E during which they got to look at x-rays, get their arms in slings, listen to each others' hearts and play with bandages. They really enjoyed showing their parents around the school during the open afternoon too.

We`re going  on a bear hunt ................

P1s new topic is "We're going on a Bear Hunt".  They have been colouring in a comic of "We`re going on a Bear Hunt". They have also been making Elmer pictures out of coloured paper squares. In Maths, they have been learning the numbers 10 to 20 . They have been playing with the bee bot and watching videos of polar bears and panda bears.

Who's been in our class?

Primary 1 came in to their class after lunch to find lots of BEAR footprints. Has daddy bear been in their class? The primary ones think he has.  They have been writing about where daddy bear was going.  They have been learning some new words and have been making trucks out of paper.

The P1`s topic this week is Goldilocks and the Three Bears andthey have been drawing 'wanted' posters for the characters. They have also been taking part in lots of activities like weighing porridge, playing in the three bears cottage and making bear masks.

Hello everyone,

We are Katie and Lucy from P7 and we are the new web representatives for Primary One this year.

The P1s have settled into life in the new school and are very happy.Their first ever topic is Humpty Dumpty. They have made miniHumpty Dumpty's and in Maths they have been learning signs and numbers 1-10.

They have also been collecting stickers on charts .
