From school year 2011-12 onwards, the two week October break will take place in the second and third weeks of that month.  This means that, for session 2011-12 , the October holiday will take place from Monday 10 October to Friday 21 October 2011, both dates inclusive.

Our sponsored Big Walk takes place on Friday 11th June.  It is hoped all pupils will manage to attend.  If you have lost your child's sponsor form, you can download another copy by clicking here.  The Parent Council has set up a "JustGiving page" at www.justgiving.com/easternprimaryparentcouncil to help collect sponsorship and so that you can appeal to friends and family far and wide.

Primary 2

P2's had a fantastic time at Huntingtower in Perth and Kinross. They went inside and saw a lot of cool, old things. We asked some of P2s what they did and enjoyed. They got dressed in traditional clothes and then did a medieval dance. Also, they got to have a castle job for a while like a servant or a maid. Primary 2 really enjoyed there trip.

The children have been doing loads of art like castles, personal shields mottos and bailey castles, crowns and if you have passed the corridor you may have seen their play castles. p2 are having a medieval banquet. They are getting prepared for their big feast and making invitations for the banquet and posters too . It's happening on the 3rd of June 2010 . A primary 2 maths class have been learning division , Well done p2 !!! At gym they have been doing ball skills.

This is Primary 2's last term till they move up to primary 3!

Primary 2's are starting a new project called "Our Past".  In that topic they have been looking at pictures of them as babies to toddlers to today and also writing stories about their memories. Also some of the primary 2's have been learning their times tables in maths.  Well done P2's!

Families

P2B have been discussing their families and what their parents jobs are in the community.  They also have been learning about proper nouns and capital letters.  They have nearly finished their topic on the community.

P2A have had a school trip around ASDA and while they were there they got to scan some food through the cash till and also got to go in the CCTV room.  They even saw a guy in McDonalds eating chips and saw a bus driver sleeping! Next term they are going on a school trip to a castle in Perth called Huntingtower.

P2B have been learning the properties of shapes like squares, triangles and circles.  Also they have been writing their own stories about runaway food!  Some are really funny!  In gym they have been doing fitness club activities.

P2 have begun a new topic called "Our Local Area".  

P2a have been busy plotting different buildings on a map of the Ferry.

P2b have been designing shops in pairs.  Some are named "Diamond Deli," The Butchers and "Cool Cones" the ice cream shop.  

P2A has been on a trip to ASDA and had a great time there.They
have been making shoe boxes into really cool houses and shops.

P2B have been making and designing postcards for their very realistic post boxes.  Also in art they have been making different things for Fairyland like houses and post cards.They have a new number line that goes up to 100.  They been learning about germs and how they can make you unwell.

Recently the Fire Brigade have come to visit the P2As ! They got to hold the hose and to see the axe and the equipment used to rescue people in an emergency.

The P2B's have been working with snowmen sums on the computer.  If they don't answer the questions quickly enough the snowman will melt. Also the P2B's have been doing table competitions and the blue team keeps winning!!! 

They have been doing experiments to find out what dissolves in water and what dissolves into water like ice cubes melt into water and biscuits dissolve in water.

For St Andrew's Day they have been learning a song called That's What I Learnt In School, also they have been learning to play instruments along with the song.

P2 have also been getting equipment out in P.E.

P2b are learning to be young scientists investigating water and its properties.  They have also made a pretend science lab with goggles and microscopes. 

In gym they are doing gymnastics and also they are learning to be more fluent readers.  They are also doing table point competitions.
