Primary 4

P4A

Primary4A have been practising their Scottish poems. Their poem is 'A Dug, A Dug and Schule in June.'

In computing, Primary4A have been typing out their penguin facts. They have been finding out all about appropriate colours and fonts.

In music, they have been playing instruments to accompany famous Disney songs.

Primary 4A have been learning all about iron age/roundhouses and they made small models.

P4B

P4B have been very busy making a time-line for their classroom. They are still adding to it now, and are hoping to make it as big as possible. They have been bringing in dates and information about events outside of school.

P4B are also making up new rules in gym and playing games according to the new rules.

P4A

P4A have been learning all about penguins on the internet and have been typing up some interesting facts. They have also been painting pictures of penguins.

The children have been doing a topic about Picts and making models.

P4A have been counting in 100 in Maths ...   

P4B

P4Bhave been busy learning about ancient Scotland.

They are also trying to learn 'The Puddock' by J.K Annand. They are trying as hard as they can to sound Scottish for the Robert Burns competition held at Eastern every year.

It is hard for Ms Simpson (their Canadian teacher) to get the hang of the Scottish 'lingo'. The P4s are having so much fun and are loving learning new words!

Welcome back after the holidays!

Primary 4a have a new topic which is the Picts. They also have made new timelines to understand history.

Primary 4b have been learning about penguins. They have been learning pictishstones in art and homophones in language. 

Primary 4a are lucky to have a student who will be teaching them for a while.

Primary 4a have been busy making Santa Claus stamps, polar bear pictures and listening to and writing winter poetry. They have also made Christmas cards and some of them have done a puppet show.

Primary 4b have been learning about food chains with a special art teacher Miss McNiven. They have also made a Christmas robin to put on their trees.

This week, P4A have been learning about habitats, communities and ecosystems in their animal work. They have also been doing lots of dictionary work to see how quickly they can find words. That same class have been finding out how different animals eat.

4B have opened their advent calender and they have joined in the eco group poster competition.

Art, Art, Art!

This week primary 4 have been doing lots of art projects and activities. The first art activity was making pirate ships. The second one was creating eco friendly posters. All of the posters will be entered into a competition held by the Eco council members at this school.

Last but not least the Primary 4s have also been making parrots. These parrots are very bright, very colourful and very advanced.

Halloween poems

Hooray Mrs French is back!

This week Mrs French who is a student teacher that they had before the October holiday is back to help out in the class room.

The latest news I have for you is that both primary 4s went to a science festival called Animal Magic. They saw a parrot called Jaffa, a toad, a hedgehog and a snake. They also did different experiments and made potions using lots of different chemicals.

This  week Primary 4A have been having a spider hunt in their classroom and at I.C.T they have been writing reports and letters. They also have been drawing spiders.

This week Primary 4B have moved into their new classroom that they were meant to move into at the start of the 1st term and they think that their classroom is bright and big and that they have lots of room to move about.

Primary 4

Hello everyone, I'm Megan and I am your new web team rep for the year.

Primary 4 have being enjoying the new school and here are some of the things that they are enjoying: a bigger gym hall, the new dinner hall, a bigger playground, brick walls and new and bigger classrooms.

This term, p4s topic is bugs and animals. They have taken 3 different bugs and put them together to make their own animals or bugs. They are reading "George's Marvellous Medicine and Mr Gum. One of the classes have had a visitor from a Grove pupil called Sarah. In RME they are doing Muslims and looking at mosques.
